Buffalo - The Buffalo Sabres announced Friday that forward Matt Moulson will not return to action until the NHL returns from its Olympic break. Moulson left late in the third period of Thursdays 3-2 win in Phoenix with an undisclosed injury, which the club revealed on Friday was an upper-body issue. "If hes a fast mender, you never know," said Sabres head coach Ted Nolan. Buffalo, which holds last place in both the Atlantic Division and Eastern Conference, has four more games on its schedule before the league pauses as its players head to Sochi. The club resumes play on Feb. 25 at home against the Carolina Hurricanes. The 30-year-old winger has totaled nine goals and 24 points in 40 games since his acquisition from the New York Islanders. "The way I see it," said Reimer, sweat still dripping from his brow, "Rask outplayed me today and that frustrates me more than anything. That third goal, to me its embarrassing; its just me and the shooter, I have to make that save." Reimers modesty aside, the Leafs were simply outclassed by a better, more experienced team in a 4-1 loss at the TD Garden on Saturday night. The Bruins clinched the season series from their budding Northeast division rivals with the victory, still without a regulation loss since October 29th (13-0-1). "Last two games I felt like weve played them pretty hard and played them pretty well and then it just boils down to making a few mistakes," said Joey Crabb, one of the top Leafs in defeat. "When you play 58 minutes hard and a few minutes off then theyre going to beat you and I think weve just got to clean that up a little bit." Johnny Boychuks bomb early in the third period ultimately pushed the Bruins too far in front, a goal that manifested itself off of a Dion Phaneuf turnover in the defensive zone. From that point on, the Bruins simply wore down their junior opponents, coasting to their eighth victory in the last ten at home against the Leafs (8-1-1). "I was happy with how we played in the first two periods," said Ron Wilson, following the game, "but the third period they just ground it out and we couldnt get the puck out of our zone." Bottled up offensively by the top-ranked defensive club in the NHL, the Leafs managed just 22 shots on Tuuka Rask, a mere four in the final frame. Five Points 1. Making his first start since October 22nd, the 23-year-old Reimer was solid between the pipes, stopping 26 Boston shots. "Reims played very well," said Wilson. "He was solid, focused, looked like he hadnt missed a beat. Its too bad we didnt play better in front of him." It was the first bit of game-action for Reimer since that fateful night in Montreal when he was bumped by Canadiens captain Brian Gionta, sidelined the next six weeks with concussion-like symptoms. "Obviously youre a little more tired than youd normally be, just because you cant replicate a game in practice as much as you try," said Reimer. "But for the most part I felt like I was seeing the puck and reading the plays for the most part, so I felt pretty good in there." This latest absence was not the longest for Reimer. Back in junior with Red Deer, he was once sidelined from Christmas until the end of the season with an ankle injury. "It was a little different because with that one it was youre out for a couple months, theres nothing you can do about it," he said. "There was no uneasiness about comingg back.ddddddddddddquot; 2. High atop the NHL scoring race (ranked first and third), Phil Kessel and Joffrey Lupul have been meticulously shut down by Zdeno Chara and the Bruins thus far. The pair have combined for exactly one goal (Kessel set up Lupul for their lone contribution on Wednesday) and two points against the Bruins this season. But worse than that, theyve combined to post a minus-17 rating in four meetings with Boston (Kessel minus-7, Lupul minus-10). 3. Crabb picked up an assist on Grabovskis seventh of the year, giving the Alaska native points in five straight games (three goals, two assists). "Hes been one of our better forwards for the last two or three weeks and I thought he did a pretty good job there," said Wilson of Crabb, who played with Grabovski and the still slumping Nikolai Kulemin. "Im just trying to create some energy and make plays at the same time," said Crabb. Not only did he help generate the lone goal against Rask, Crabb also drew two penalties and dropped the mitts with Joe Corvo in the third period. 4. Kulemins goalless drought extended to 19 games in the loss, by far the worst of his career. The 25-year-old played a season-low 10:52, his lowest total since February 12, 2010 when he logged 9:39 in a loss to St. Louis (he totaled 5:48 in a game against Carolina last season, but that was because of injury). "It would affect anybody when you havent scored and you expect to score," said Wilson. "Weve got to figure a way to get him going." Kulemin failed to register a shot for the fifth time in the 19-game spell. He has just two goals this season. 5. In such a closely contested game, the Leafs couldve used a lift from their second-ranked powerplay, which entered the game with at least a goal in eight consecutive games and nine of the previous ten. "They did a pretty good job on our powerplay," said Wilson. "We took some ill-advised shots. They rushed us into doing some things that we didnt want to do. But if we had scored one goal on the rence anyway." Bonus Points Jake Gardiner led the Leafs in ice-time at 26:04... The Leafs were dominated in the faceoff circle, losing 68 percent of the draws. Tim Connolly was a team-worst 2-14... Lupul saw a seven-game point streak come to an end. Saturday marked just the sixth game hes failed to register at least a point this season... Kessel has gone five games without a goal, his longest dry spell of the season... Carl Gunnarsson played just 16:01, his second-lowest total of the season (he played 11:19 in Dallas, but that was due to injury). Gunnarsson was benched for a lengthy stint in the third period. He was on the ice for two of the first three goals against... Cody Franson returned to the lineup after sitting against Boston earlier in the week. He logged just over 14 minutes. cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys cheap jerseys cheap jerseys cheap nfl jerseys wholesale jerseys ' ' '
